Originally a traditional folk song, “The House of the Rising Sun” gained popularity through the rendition by the British rock band The Animals. Its lyrics depict the hardships faced in the city of New Orleans, United States.

Singing with a mature and raspy voice, Balke delivered the poignant lines: “There is a house way down in New Orleans they call the Rising Sun, and it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy – and God, I know I’m one.”

Moved by her performance, Balke’s family, including her tearful younger brother, witnessed the emotional impact unfold. Throughout her rendition, she continually surprised the audience and coaches, Álvaro Soler, Wincent Weiss, and Lena Meyer-Landrut, eventually earning a standing ovation from all present.

Choosing Michi Beck and Smudo as her coaches propelled Balke to the final stages of “The Voice Kids” competition, where she ultimately clinched the Season 10 title in Germany.

Celebrating her victory on Instagram, Balke expressed gratitude to her supporters, accompanied by a photo holding the trophy alongside her jubilant judges. Her post garnered over 7,000 likes, while her audition video amassed nearly 3,000,000 views.

Prior to her triumph in “The Voice Kids” Season 10, Balke had secured the runner-up position in Season 13 of Das Supertalent, the German edition of the “Got Talent” franchise
