A man from Tulsa, Oklahoma stopped on a dirt road and abandoned his dog right there. He left, but the dog stayed in the same place and waited 9 hours for his master to return. But the man would never return.
The surveillance cameras of the trail managed to capture the abandonment and the rescuers began to intervene. The Oklahoma Animal Alliance picked up the dog and brought him to their clinic for an exam. He was named Rocket and was in good health!
“While we understand that people may have a difficult time caring for their pets due to COVID, there are resources and organizations here to help, including us,” the Alliance said on Facebook. “Doing this for a living, feeling like it should never be the answer.”
After posting the surveillance footage, they were able to locate the man responsible. The situation is still under investigation and Rocket remains in good hands.
“We will make sure that he is checked and has a full stomach and a warm, safe place to rest,” the rescue said. “We will make sure that he never suffers this fate again.”
