Helicopter pilot Dan Albiner was fighting a creek fire in the central California wilderness when he received a thank you for his efforts from a Habitat member. While throwing buckets of water at the massive forest fire, an owl flew inside the helicopter and sat next to it!

Dan saw something out of the corner of his eye when he was 200 feet above the ground, and it was there! The owl was friendly and calm, and it was as if he just wanted to say hello and thank him for his help.

The pilot continued the task at hand, and the owl stayed by his side for two more fills and drops. Then he flew out of the window near the same area he entered. It’s a moment Dan Albiner will never forget!
