Owen Block, like most of us, loves his food, but for Owen, who has autism, he needs to know exactly what he eats every night.
So when his father decided to eat at Sun Cusines Burmese restaurant, he asked his son to hurry up and get a menu so he could choose exactly what he wanted.
Dad patiently waited in his car for his son’s return, but minutes passed and Owen’s dad couldn’t understand what was taking so long. Then he entered the restaurant and couldn’t believe what the staff had done to Owen.
Owen ordered a takeout menu, but that’s not all he ordered.
“Then he said I was hungry and when I looked at his face with my heart I told him he was a boy very special to me. I said what do you want to eat some honey, I asked him and he said I wanted to eat beef,” said Sun restaurant partner and manager Aye Thein, according to News 4.
Owen received clear instructions from his father, he just had to come and get a menu while he was waiting in the car.
But Owen couldn’t resist the delicious smells of the food in the restaurant, so instead of just eating a menu, he had to stay and enjoy the smells.
Dad waited and waited in the car. But finally, he realizes that he must come in and see what happened to his son.
When the father entered the restaurant, he could not believe what he saw. There was Owen sitting at a table by himself enjoying a delicious beef curry.
Sandra’s mum took to Facebook to write about the whole event.
“Apparently he said to the hostess, I’m hungry. I sat him down and asked what he wanted to eat, and he said, ‘Beef.’ She told the cooks, ‘Hurry up, this boy is very hungry’ and I made him beef curry with rice. She said it was so nice that she planned to let him to eat for free, Owen’s mother, Sandra, wrote on Facebook.
Restaurant staff in Williamsville, New York, knew a hungry customer when they saw him and were excited to cook Owen’s meal so he could leave their popular restaurant fully satisfied.
Her mother expressed how grateful she was for the kindness of the staff, adding, “If you end up there, thank them again, from me. For their kindness and treating my son like family.”
