Fred Stobo and his wife Lauren lived a love story that lasted 75 years. After her death, Fred wanted to do something to remember her. The 96-year-old was inspired to write a love song for her and took pen to paper and wrote a song called Sweet Lorraine.

“She was the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen,” he recalls. “She gave me 75 years of it.”

When he heard about a local songwriting contest, he thought he’d send a message, and he didn’t have a YouTube video to send.

Jacob Colgan of Green Shoe Studio got the message and was so impressed with the song that he decided to hire musicians and singers to record it.

Fred and Jacob were nervous about listening to the song together. “Because it meant so much to him, it meant so much to me,” Jacob explains. “Actually, I was nervous.” Little did the couple know that the song would become a viral hit!
