Graduation ceremonies mean a lot to people, both those receiving honors and those who support them.
That’s why it’s hard when the people you love and support you can’t come to your graduation party. Sometimes there are big reasons why the people we love can’t do this, other times it’s because they are unfortunately no longer with us.
That’s what happened to a special-needs teenager named Paul Jr., whose mother died in 2010, as you’ll see in this touching video and KSLA reporting. But what’s so touching is that she’s no longer alive, which didn’t stop him from telling her about his achievement and including her in his celebration. This moment was captured in a video and has since been shared online, allowing all of us to share and honor the young man for his remarkable achievement.
In the video posted on YouTube, the teenager is seen dressed in chic and smart clothes as he wore a shirt, tie and pants on his big day. In the video, he walks through the cemetery to his grave holding a bouquet of flowers. As soon as he reached his grave, he spoke to his mother and told her the great news. He says:
“Mom, I have something to say, I did it. I graduated today. I know you are very proud of me and happy. I love you so much.”
Next, Paul Jr. lays flowers at his mother’s grave before kissing her fingers and then touching her tombstone. This moment is very precious because it is clear how deserving and proud the boy is of his graduation, and his mother would certainly be very proud to see the young man he grew up with.
Congratulations to the young man on his graduation – he must be very proud of himself, both for his hard work and for the beautiful way he included his mother in his celebration.
