After two and a half years, the trips stopped and the two settled in Moscow, the city where Eva was born. Although no one traveled, John kept his long red beard. Despite being a “house captain” now, John can’t stop his beard from growing while on vacation. So he kept growing his beard and hair until the day he changed.

John has many photos to remember his beard. Some photos show the beard proving its worth in cold weather, and some destinations on its journey have landed it in cold places. One of the photos shows his beard covered in ice.

Then there’s the photo of John sitting in the barber’s chair, where the barber brings the giant red beard. John looks exaggerated in shock when the divorcees take their place. The cameras captured the way the beard is cut for posterity, and the time-lapse video comes across as humorous.

The video found its way onto Facebook and became more popular than anyone could have imagined. The video has been watched by nearly 10 million people, which is amazing.

Was anyone more surprised than John’s wife? Eva was shocked to see her husband without his beard and long hair. It was like John was a different person, but he was still John, just a clean copy of himself.

John kept some of his beard hair as a keepsake. You would think he would keep a beard because Moscow can get cold during the winter. John thought it was no big deal, because he could always bring back the old beard.
