An American Akita dog named Keola lives in Doncaster, England. Keola has been with her owners, Ricky and Alhanna Butler, since she was just a puppy and has bonded with them.

Al-Hana found out she was pregnant and was excited to add a new member to her family. But, for some reason, Kyula looked visibly worried. The large dog constantly barked against his mother’s expanding human stomach and chest.

Meanwhile, El-Hana began to experience severe back pain during her pregnancy. When she went to the doctor, he assured her that everything would be fine and that it was just because of the weight of the pregnancy. While the doctor seemed confident that all was well, Kyula was not!

The dog continued to bark at El-Hana’s trunk, and his despair grew over time. Then she started to look into our divinity’s eyes, apparently begging her to do something and get help. The pregnant woman wanted to believe that all was well and that her dog was just nonsense, but she admitted that this unusual behavior scared her.

She took pictures of the dog’s behavior and posted them on Facebook, in an effort to shed light on a situation she was afraid of. Instead of laughing with her, Elhana’s friends suggested the dog might be on something and could see – or smell – that something was wrong.

Eventually, El-Hana heeded Kyula’s warnings and returned to the doctor. This time, I asked for answers and forced them to take a poll. It turned out the condition was serious and Elhana needed intensive care. The expectant mother had what doctors later described as “superbugs”. It was an antibiotic resistant disease and has so far affected only one other person in the UK. And as if that wasn’t enough, she also had a severe kidney infection that was in her kidneys.

If she hadn’t gone to the doctor, she would have died with her baby.
Thanks to Keola, ElHana received the treatment she needed to heal her kidneys and recover from the superbug. Her next trip was to the hospital to give birth to her stepson, Lincoln. The family is now complete and Keola loves taking care of the newborn baby. We are sure the family will be forever grateful for this special dog!
