Chewy was found this weekend in a restroom at Las Vegas International Airport with a handwritten note stating that her owner had been the victim of domestic violence and could not bring her precious pet with her.
“My landlord was in an abusive relationship and was unable to involve me,” the note read. “She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she has no other choice.”
The heartbreaking post went on to say that the former owner’s friend kicked the dog and now has “a big knot on his head.”
Airport authorities turned Chewy over to Connie and Millie’s Dog Rescue in Las Vegas, where he received several offers of adoption and “great interest.”
