A family has been affected when they lost a loved one on what was supposed to be a routine call. Officer Charlie Kondak was a beloved and respected family man throughout his community. Charlie was 45 when he was shot and killed after answering a call he thought was a simple task to handle.

Charlie left behind a loving wife and six children. Needless to say they were heartbroken when he was shot. It seems like a senseless act of violence in a normally safe society. Officer Kondak and his family lived in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

The whole community was shocked and terrified after learning that he had been shot in December 2014.

Officer Kondak’s daughter, Alina, always dreamed that her father would see her go to the ball as she grew up.

It was finally time for Alina to attend the ball and she couldn’t help but be sad that her father whom she loved so much couldn’t see her in her sparkling outfit. If only he could be there to take her picture and make sure her date would get her home safely not too late in the evening.

Alina’s mother, Teresa, saw her daughter’s grief and came up with an awesome secret plan to make prom night special.
When Alina gets off the bus to attend a concert, she is shocked to see a group of her father’s fellow officers from the Tarpon Spring Police Department surprise her. She was moved to tears by the outpouring of support for her and for her father’s service.
