The hairstylist who works at the store was so touched by the request that she posted the note on her Facebook page, WMTW reported. Then she was inundated with multiple offers to take the only man on her show.

Flowers served in the Navy in 1976, spending time in the Philippines and Panama. His brilliant career in the service of the fatherland continued for 20 years. The flowers separated eight years ago and she has lived alone ever since. Although he has two adult children, he admits they are busy with their own lives and don’t have much time to spend with him.

Flowers contracted Hepatitis C from a shard stuck to his hand while serving in the Philippines. In addition to this condition, the flowers also suffer from cirrhosis, which adds to ongoing health issues.

Heather Jeselskis Swift was the hairstylist who found the note and posted it to social media. In her message, she included her phone number. It didn’t take long for Flores to receive many phone calls from all over the country with people who just wanted to wish him luck.

A local woman named Sandy Washer traveled 40 miles from her home to pick flowers and bring them to lunch on Veterans Day. Washer said her father was in the military and she had a soft spot in her heart for veterans. She took the kindness a step further by inviting flowers for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with her and her family.
