“We had always planned on having Pierson as the ring bearer because he’s such an outgoing, charismatic, and a natural little entertainer. We thought it would be the perfect role for him,” Kristie explained to Good Morning America. “But the night before, at the rehearsal dinner, it wasn’t going as smoothly. He just wanted to run around the venue and be a typical two-year-old.”
Although Pierson didn’t initially fit the mold of an ideal ring bearer, the charismatic toddler ended up stealing the spotlight on the wedding day. Newlywed Kristie Mihelich recounted her son’s unexpected reaction to the media outlet.
“When they both saw me down the aisle, their jaws dropped, and he said, ‘Huh?’ as if to say, ‘Hi, Mom!’ He vigorously shook both of his hands and then darted toward me,” Mihelich reminisced.
“It was the most heartwarming thing,” she added. “I thought he would just stand there and wait for me, but no, he was running to his mommy.”
During her interview with Today, Kristie fondly recalled the moment and expressed, “I could have gone home right then and been perfectly content with my wedding.” However, Pierson’s captivating antics didn’t end there. After his parents’ wedding ceremony, the outgoing toddler hit the dance floor and got the party started.
“After dinner, as I mentioned, he’s like a little performer,” Kristie shared with Good Morning America. “He finished his dinner and made a beeline for the dance floor, where he stayed, dancing the night away until midnight.”
