The South China Post reported the whole incident. The unidentified woman, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, has lost her memory and logical abilities, but that wasn’t going to stop her from visiting her local market. Apparently, the grandmother was fed up with being locked in her apartment and took matters into her own hands.
She grabbed her red purse and crawled out the bathroom window, then down the side of the building. The daring woman used the metal bars of the ventilation shaft as a ladder.

Firefighters received a call about a tall lady climbing a building like Spiderman. They thought it was a joke until more calls started popping up. They realized a woman was trying to climb out of a tall apartment building and they knew they had to act fast.
When the firefighters arrived on the scene, they inflated a giant mattress to cushion the fall of the acrobat grandmother. Fortunately, the inflatable mattress was not necessary. A family living on the fourth floor opened their window and pulled her to safety.
The woman descended ten flights of stairs before being taken to safety. It’s over 100 feet! Although we know she is safe and alive, it was unclear if the grandmother was injured during her ordeal.
Maybe her family should consider using an adult nursery instead of locking her in an apartment? According to CBS News, risky behaviors, shoplifting and dressing at inappropriate times are common among patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
