Pentatonix, the popular a cappella group, has put their spin on Simon & Garfunkel’s classic hit “Sound of Silence” in a video that is both dramatic and haunting. The video begins with Scott Hoying’s deep, rich baritone giving the song a darker tone reminiscent of the heavy metal band Disturbed’s version.

Then, the other members join in, and the duet turns into a quintet full of beautiful harmonies. With the addition of beatboxing, basslines, riffing, and percussion, PTX creates a unique and captivating version of the song.

The group’s performance has received high praise from fans. One person wrote, “It doesn’t matter the song or how many times I listen to a PTX cover… I get chills EVERY time.” Another added, “I have heard many versions of this song over the years. Never liked any as well as the original. Have to say I like this version better.”

Despite the original being a beloved classic, it’s hard to deny the amazing talent and sound of Pentatonix’s rendition. The combination of their contrasting vocals, beatboxing, and instrumental sounds makes for an incredible performance.

Listen to PTX’s cover of “Sound of Silence” and experience their incredible talent for yourself. Don’t forget to share it with the world and let others enjoy the magic of this young team of performers.
