As reported by 9News, in July 2018, siblings Haylie Wenke, 13, and Reagan Wenke, 6, along with their friend, demonstrated a remarkable act of kindness when they returned a lost wallet containing $700 to its rightful owner. The wallet had slipped from the pocket of Carlton’s son, Nigel Drake, on his way home from work.
The security footage captured the children saying, “We found your wallet outside of your car and we just thought we would give it back to you. I’m going to put it over here so no one takes any money.
You’re welcome. Thank you.” With those words, the three youngsters hopped back onto their bicycles and disappeared down the street. The gesture deeply moved Carlton and Drake. Drake shared his feelings, saying, “I watched the video, and it was just these kind-hearted kids who chose to do the right thing. It was very heartwarming.”
Despite their appreciation, neither the father nor the son knew the identity or whereabouts of the children. In an attempt to find and express their gratitude, Carlton posted the security footage on his Facebook page, hoping that someone would help identify the young trio. It didn’t take long for the video clip to go viral, leading to well-deserved recognition for the kids.
