Ray Kelly was 64 when he auditioned for BGT in 2018, a UK TV talent show competition whose lead judge is none other than Simon Cowell. When the father called. Ray appeared in front of the judges and exchanged jokes with them.
The 64-year-old priest chose a song called Everybody Hurts, an original song by the famous American rock band from Athens, Georgia in the USA, R.E.M.
His introduction of the song literally rocked the room as he received thunderous applause and standing ovations from the judges and the live audience of the show.

But even before joining the talent show, the father said. Kelly caused a stir on social media when he was recorded singing Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah at a church wedding in his parish.
The video uploaded to YouTube has garnered over 70 million views.
In the end, father. Kelly decided to perform on the show – and we, along with the enthusiastic Simon Cowell – are delighted that he did.

Unfortunately, my father. Kelly didn’t end up winning in BGT, but retired after impressing millions of viewers with her talent.
