Appearing on the Red Table talk show, Kelly revealed that she would not be breastfeeding her son, which many thought was something she should consider due to the benefits her son could reap from it.
“I chose to continue taking my medication over breastfeeding and the judgment I received from my friends and family (is fierce),” Kelly said, explaining her version.
She said, “I’m like, ‘Don’t you think I know?’” “What kind of mother would she be if she started turning in on me if she started destroying me?” she observed.
She then reiterated that she stands by her decision because she believes it is the right thing for her and her son. “That must be what’s best for me,” she said, “what’s best for my son.”
In the same interview, Kelly admitted that her mother, Sharon, gained more respect from her after she called her pregnancy “one of the toughest, weirdest, most difficult.”
