Heroes often emerge from tragic events. A Harris County man becomes a hero when Tropical Storm Imelda floods Texas and the animals are at risk of drowning. This hero man puts his life in danger to save many stranded animals and spends hours saving these helpless animals.
The video was taken in the Kingswood Men’s Quarter, with floodwaters reaching the roofs of most of the houses.
While the people were safely evacuated, the animals were not so fortunate. As the cries of the drowning animals intensified, the man could not stand idly by and do nothing. Therefore, he continued to save them, defying the floodwaters to his waist.

In the video, the man can be seen struggling through torrential flood waters, carrying a baby goat to safety. It is very moving to hear the poor traumatized goat screaming helplessly after his ordeal. This brave man ventured into the Flood several times until he was able to save all the stranded animals.

The man’s neighbor later said the man himself was badly damaged by the flooding. Her home had already been damaged by Hurricane Harvey. He had just completed the renovations when the current flooding destroyed all the repairs he was making. This is very sad news to hear.
But we can only have sincere respect and admiration for man for his kindness in saving all these animals. That’s the definition of a true hero.
