After asking his wife to confirm that the numbers were real, he called Joseph to inform him that he had also become a millionaire. Joseph didn’t believe it and thought his friend was joking with him.

Thomas and Joseph have played the lottery every week since its inception, and in 1992 they shook the deal and swore that if they ever won, they would split the jackpot between them. It was one of those things they would never have imagined.

The duo have yet to decide what to do with their jackpot shares, but the cash will certainly help provide them with a very comfortable retirement.

Thomas has already quit his job and said it will mean he can spend more time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which he looks forward to.

“We can pursue whatever we feel comfortable doing,” he told Express & Star. “I can’t think of a better way to retire.” When Joseph was asked to keep his promise, he replied, “A handshake is a handshake, man.” What a good time to make a fortune! We believe there is much to learn from these gentlemen.
