When Haley Fuqua started begging her parents for a dog, they were adamant that the undergraduate student should finish her studies at Oklahoma State University before making that kind of commitment. Instead, Haley started volunteering at the Humane Society of Stillwater to stay with the dogs.
Although she started volunteering just before Thanksgiving, it didn’t take long for Haley to bond with a dog named Rambo.
Although the other dogs were overexcited and irritable, Rambo huddled next to her. The two were inseparable during Haley’s volunteer shifts, walking and hanging out together.
Haley wanted to share her love for Rambo with her family, so she started sending videos of herself with the sweet dog. Through all of these videos, it became clear to Lance and Jessica Fuqua that their daughter should become the official owner of Rambo. Lance and his wife felt in their hearts that Rambo should be part of their family.
A plan is hatched to make Haley’s dream come true just in time, as Haley discovers Rambo has been adopted, happy that he has a family, but also sad that she can no longer visit him.
It was the surprise of a lifetime! In a touching video Lance posted to Facebook on Dec. 18, we see Haley’s reaction when she realizes Rambo is hers forever.
