Nigel was completely destroyed by his death. He couldn’t have imagined that his life would go on without her.
Before she died, Vader asked her to do one thing for her.
I begged him, “Please water the plants in my bathroom after I leave.” Nigel promised him he would. It might have seemed like a strange request, but he would have done anything for her.
Day after day, Nigel continued to water the lofts. He never disappointed his late wife
Their children often thought of Vader and what a wonderful mother she was. They remembered his wonderful sense of humor. She had no problem cheating on anyone, including her family (especially her husband).
Nigel’s daughters have noticed that he keeps watering the plants, even though sometimes the water overflows from the pot and splashes onto the bathroom floor! He thought it was strange, but then again, he would never let his wife down.
The puddles were sometimes so bad that Nigel worried if there was a leak in the bathroom. He thought it might be the toilet, but he couldn’t find the leak anywhere!
The plants were as green and lush as ever the day Nigel started watering them. Nigel felt a sense of accomplishment keeping his wife’s plants alive. He also felt good about keeping his promise to her, and when he decided to move out, five years after her death, he brought the plants with him to his new home.
That’s when he discovered that the plants had been plastic all this time! Vader tricked him again, this time from the grave!
Nigel wasn’t bothered by that at all. One of the reasons he loves Phèdre so much is his sense of humor. He wondered why the plants looked so perfect all this time!
