Brooke’s story is not an isolated incident of officers going above and beyond during their off-duty hours. In 2020, Officer Bradley Sanders in Atlanta County, Mississippi, demonstrated a similar generous spirit. After pulling over Niya Sumter and noticing her son in an incorrectly sized car seat, Officer Sanders took her to Walmart and personally purchased the correct size.
Sumter shared the heartwarming experience on Facebook, expressing gratitude for the unexpected act of kindness. Sanders, in recounting the incident, emphasized that Sumter understood the legitimacy of the traffic stop and had no issues with the proceedings.
Sanders concluded, “Overwhelmingly, there are great cops out there. Are there a few bad apples? I am sure. But most of us got into this profession to help people, as I did myself. I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I wanted to help
