Emily Darby of Liverpool, New York, lost her father, Todd Exell, in May 2001, after his death from cancer.
Eight-year-old Emily was forced to grow up without her father

Fifteen years later, Emily has grown into a beautiful woman.
She found the love of her life and was ready for her big day

Finally, on October 4, 2016, Emily exchanged her wedding vows with Shakeel Darby, now her husband.
During their wedding, her godfather and his uncle Peter suddenly released a mysterious message

Tears streamed down Emily’s cheeks as Uncle Peter read: “To my dear daughter Emily.
“You are my heart, my soul and you always will be.”
At that moment, Shaquille handed Emily her handkerchief to wipe away her tears.
The letter turned out to be from Emily’s late father, Mr. Axel, who had enlisted his wife’s help in writing the letter, during his final days.
Then the letter was put in the fridge to keep until their daughter’s big birthday.
Uncle Peter continued: “I am writing this letter for your wedding day to tell you that I will not be there in body but I will be there in spirit.”
Shaquille holds Emily’s hand as they listen intently to the heartfelt message
“You were sunny for me in my darkest days. I want you to have the best life and love God gives you.”
“I ask you and your husband to treat each other with love and respect.”
Emily fired back as her father’s words rang in her ears
“I love you, Emily. I know I will love your new husband,” Uncle Peter read.
“I will always be there when you walk anywhere. For your new husband, I will walk with you too”
Just when everyone thought Uncle Peter had finished the letter, he turned to Shaquille saying, “To the new husband…”
“I won’t be able to bully you or ask you a million questions before I go out with my daughter, tell you that I have a gun under my bed, or ask you why you are interested in dating my daughter, take your license plate. registration and what kind of car you drive,” Axel wrote in the letter.
“But all I can do is chase you away.”
Hearing the funny threat from the father, Shaquille shook his head nervously, while Emily and the guests burst out laughing.
Mr Axel wrote: “Treat her like a princess and she will be the queen.
This unforgettable moment was filmed and shared online.
Although Mr. Axel was not physically present, Emily could feel his presence through the letter on this special day.
What a nice thing to have.
Emily will definitely cherish this message forever
