Thomas shared his remarkable survival journey in an East Coast Radio interview, recounting how he became a T3 paraplegic. During this challenging time, his girlfriend made the decision to leave her law career to support him. Thomas credited his faith in God, his girlfriend, and his family for helping him navigate through the difficulties.
Before the life-altering event, Thomas, an avid adrenaline enthusiast, enjoyed activities like riding superbikes and Jet Skis. The transition to life as a paraplegic was tough, but once he overcame the initial challenges, he embraced the opportunity to start living again. Thomas and his then-girlfriend got married, had two “miracle children,” and relocated to Cape Town. Since then, he has been sharing his inspiring story through talks, aiming to motivate others.
Emphasizing his role as a “family man,” Thomas cherishes spending time with his kids, including their furry companions. This dedication is evident in his act of rescuing Cassius, the Rottweiler, from the pool. While swimming may not be Cassius’ favorite activity, the dog showcases impressive skills in other sports. Thomas posted a video on Instagram featuring Cassius engaging in “parkour,” where the large dog jumps almost as high as the family’s fence, diligently patrolling the perimeter. Thomas affectionately captioned the video, “Cassius likes to see who’s walking by and standing at the gate is not good enough. He needs to cover the full perimeter of the house… My big Baby boy.”
