Law enforcement has posted security photos of the woman on their Facebook page in an effort to find someone who recognizes her so they can hold her accountable for her actions.

According to a spokesperson for the mayor’s office to Fox News, the woman found the receipt either in a bin, trash can or on the floor. She then went into the store and found the items on the receipt, then returned them to customer service for cash, even though they weren’t the original buyer.

Customers in the store say they were surprised that this happened. With so many security cameras, it’s hard for anyone to get away with such a brazen crime.

Staff were understandably busier than usual as the holiday season began to pick up. Because they are so busy, the scammer managed to take advantage.

The staff were unaware of the woman’s claim as it had never happened in the store prior to this incident.
