Jerry is 80 years old and was cared for by his nephew and brother until recently. When his condition worsened and they could no longer care for him, he was sent to his daughter’s home, reports 9News.
Unfortunately, his daughter was not in the right frame of mind to take care of him. He decided to send her on a flight to Denver to receive treatment from his ex-wife. Before Jerry’s flight arrived, the girl texted Jerry’s wife that she needed to get rid of him and that she was “done with him”.
When Jerry arrived at Denver International Airport with his dog, there was no one to pick him up. More than that, Jerry’s condition confused him about his whereabouts.
He didn’t know what to do or who to contact, so he wandered around until someone finally noticed him and reported him to the police. Cops said Jerry could not provide them with the names of his family members, where he lived or any other identifying details.
After a thorough investigation, the police learned Jerry’s identity. They contacted his ex-wife and daughter, but no one let him into their home and gave him the care he needed.
Because of this, Jerry’s only option was to move into a local hospital. Indeed, hospitals are required to provide care to people in such situations.
