Staying true to the family’s deep affection for animals, Bindi and Powell chose to have their intimate wedding in the lush gardens of Australia Zoo in Queensland. Despite its unusual setting, the zoo holds sentimental value for the Irwin family, as it was established by Bindi’s grandparents in the 1970s and continues to be their residence. Thus, it became the unique backdrop for Bindi and Powell’s union.
The couple welcomed their first child, Grace Warrior, on March 25, 2021. Since then, Bindi and Chandler have regularly shared glimpses of their joyous family life through social media. On July 23, 2022, Bindi posted a series of photos from her 24th birthday celebration on a mountainside, surrounded by her loving husband, child, mother, and brother.
Reflecting on the past year, Bindi expressed gratitude for the profound gifts her family had unknowingly bestowed upon her. She acknowledged the support, strength, and unique qualities each family member brought into her life.
Before fully embracing family life, Bindi showcased unexpected dancing prowess in 2015. Joining the 21st season of “Dancing With The Stars,” she partnered with dancer Derek Hough. Their sixth performance featured the iconic “Dirty Dancing” classic “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.” During rehearsals, they received a surprise visit from Jennifer Grey, the actress who played Baby in the 1987 film, offering words of encouragement. Bindi and Hough flawlessly executed the routine, including the famous lift that left the audience in awe.
However, just moments before taking the stage, costume issues created panic for Bindi and Hough. Despite the last-minute hurdle, they triumphed with the performance, winning that season of the show. The victory was particularly poignant, as they dedicated another stunning performance to Bindi’s father. It’s safe to say that both Swayze and Steve Irwin would have been incredibly proud of Bindi
